It has happened again. After working for days, and finally deciding I have a profile figured out, I find new information that totally changes everything! In this case, the post about William King. This new information is more logical than what I had before.
Here’s the revised post for William King of England.
William King, my 11th ggf, was born in 1520 in Cheshire, England. He is the son of Sir Thomas King and Johanna Beauchamp. (The woman who was his first wife is now his mother.) Sir Thomas was born about 1490 in Thame, Oxfordshire, England, the son of John King (1415-1475). Johanna’s revised date of birth is 1500 and she died about 1560. She is the daughter of the Earl of Warwick.
Revising Johanna’s date of birth and making her William’s mother, allows William to marry Margaret Ferrers without so many conflicts. Now to see if I can find more information about Margaret!
William King and Johanna Beauchamp are my 12th ggp. I have trouble with the father of William’s? Is it John or Ralph?? Thanks, Sheila
I think William’s father is Sir Thomas King (1490-1560) and his grandfather is John King, born 1440, but I don’t have any sources for that.
Did some more research. I have Sir Thomas King and Johanna Beauchamp as my 12th ggf and ggm. My 13th ggf was John. His father was Sir Ralph King, born in 1390. His father was John King who was married to Agnes Mortimer.
Did you figure this out? I remember working on it, and deciding first one and then the other. I’ll look again if you still want to know.
